Senior Director of Preclinical Program: Shwu-Huey Liu, Ph.D., was the first employee of PhytoCeutica in 1999. She received postdoctoral training at Yale University School of Medicine under Professor Yung-Chi Cheng. Dr. Liu is an expert in anti-cancer and anti-viral therapeutic discovery as well as botanical drug discovery including the discovery and patenting of PHY906.
Dr. Liu received a Young Investigator Award from the American Association for Cancer Research, has published over forty scientific papers and reports in peer-reviewed journals and symposia, has filed several patents related to traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, has co-invented the botanical formulation PHY906 currently in three cancer clinical trials in the U.S., and has researched the mechanism-of-action and pharmacokinetics of anti-HBV drugs that are the basis of four clinical trials in the U.S.
Dr. Liu received her B.S. in Chemistry at Soochow University in Taipei, and her M.S and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Ohio State University. |
